Enterprise Java is an industry group dedicated to Enterprise Computing. Enterprise Java encourages collaboration and co-operation and is committed to assisting companies understand and develop skills in Java and other enterprise technologies. The Victorian Government supported the formation of Enterprise Java in 2002. Since then Enterprise Java has actively encouraged learning and collaboration in the Java space between enterprises, developers, vendors, universities and government.
Enterprise Java runs regular seminars and industry forums which aim to share industry experiences in applying Java technologies in the enterprise. View upcoming and previous events to see if you or your company can benefit from being involved with Enterprise Java.

FROM ENTREPRENEUR TO GOOGLE TO VENTURE CAPITAL
TUESDAY 24TH AUGUST 2010
The Enterprise Java Afternoon Seminar and Networking Event on 24th August 2010 is on startups, funding and exits.
We are fortunate to have Anthony Glenning from Starfish Ventures as our main speaker.
Tony has done it all: founded a software company in Melbourne, sold it to Google, worked at the Googleplex, and now back again in Melbourne, become a VC. Tony's talk will cover various experiences along that journey.
After Tony's talk, several startups will give their 3-5 minute elevator pitch to the audience.
CALL FOR START-UPS: If you are doing a startup, and would like to present to an audience which includes real VC's, please email Jayne at mailto:eja.coordinator@gmail.com before COB Friday 30th July 2010.
The Enterprise Java Committee will choose which start-ups present using the following criteria:
- must be Australian based (preferably Victorian)
- wow-factor
- must be a start up (whether funded or not)
- a preference for more than just an idea: are you readying a product/website for market?
- some use of Java technology (includes Android), or an enterprise focus
